Here are the pictures of an abandoned railroad from somewhere in Russia. Looking at these pictures and seeing those rusty rails with an old locomotive standing on them, my guess is that this railroad comes to us from a pre-WWII era. Apparently this railroad is so remote that even after all these years you still can’t see evidence that the metal scrappers had looted the place. After over 750 stories we did on this site, this one fascinates me the most…

The factory which was founded in 1930, stayed around for decades until it filed for bankruptcy in 2002 and shut down all of its production. Today the factory remains idle and abandoned. Here are pictures of the factory…
We already had shown you pictures of one abandoned mansion in Russia. What you see on the pictures below is another abandoned mansion called “Otrada” which is located on the property of the Russian Federal Security Service (FSB) vocation resort 80km from Moscow. The first owner of the mansion was the youngest of the Orlov Brothers, count Vladimir Grigorievich (1743-1831). After retiring in the mid 1770s Orlov decided to first build and then settle in this mansion. Mansion’s design was heavily influenced by the English architecture. Around the mansion there were gardens with hills, statues, and benches. In the front there was a magnificent fountain, and in the mansion’s ponds there was plenty of fish. After the death of Vladimir Orlov, the mansion was given to his grandson count Davidov who was also known as Orlov-Davidov. Even after the death of Orlov, the cultural life of the mansion did not stop. Vladimir Orlov had organized an in house theater with orchestra which was performing even after his death. The indoor library, as well as a telescope of Russian scientist Michael Lomonosov were all kept in the mansion for 150 years. Later the mansion became a hot spot for famous Russian writers such as Bolotov, Tutchev, Bunin, and Chehov. In the mid 1980s the restoration of the mansion had began and stopped abruptly, leaving this mansion standing abandoned…

There have been few rumors about an outdoor car museum full of priceless Soviet Union cars in some deserted part of Russia for a number of years now. People were talking about priceless oldtimers that were simply standing abandoned in the field. Reality is, this outdoor “museum” does exist!!! In one small village in Russia, one guy had managed to collect some of the rarest Soviet cars and put them all together on an open field by his house. Keeping in mind just how rare some of these cares are, you can do nothing but wonder how in the world this man could get his hands on so many of them?! All of the pictures are by a very talented photographer giharrr. In case there are still any skeptics left, here is the Google Map view of this location here…
