Those of you who just read the title of this post, were probably expecting to see Yuri Gagarin, well this post isn’t about him. Not many may know this, but in the 1950s, way before USSR had put it’s first man into space, they were actively using domestic animals while developing their space program. As you can see here they are using a piggy, It doesn’t really look like this piggy went as high up as “space”, it was most likely a test flight of a certain components. Later on the Soviets had used dogs which they flew all the way into space…

When it comes to fashion, USSR was nowhere near it’s European “rivals”, mostly because it wasn’t really trying to compete. People in the USSR dressed up simple and often similar to eachother since there wasn’t much stuff to choose from, but the designers were still doing their job at trying to project some of the future fashion trends…
