Have you ever felt puzzled when asking yourself “How in the world could i collect cucumbers, so that my back wouldn’t hurt???” actually we not going to blame you in case you haven’t asked yourself that question but for some people this is a serious issue. When it comes to Ladas, it can go both ways. While the Lada Project C, looks like a nice car, sometimes the Lada designers can still get things quite wrong. Well, it seems like they have hit a jackpot with Lada C-Cross. Yes, this could potentially be the next Lada crossover. Since Lada is a Russian car manufacturer, the timing remains to be one of the bggest problems. Russian manufacturers often make one car prototype and tour it through car shows for years, before the car ever gets put into production, or maybe not put into production at all. Lada claims that they will make sure that Lada C-Cross gets on the roads in 2012, so lets wait and see…

Here are the pictures of an abandoned railroad from somewhere in Russia. Looking at these pictures and seeing those rusty rails with an old locomotive standing on them, my guess is that this railroad comes to us from a pre-WWII era. Apparently this railroad is so remote that even after all these years you still can’t see evidence that the metal scrappers had looted the place. After over 750 stories we did on this site, this one fascinates me the most…
We had shown you plenty pictures of abandoned factories from Russia, and we even shown you the abandoned AZLK factory before, but here are more pictures for you. Russian car factory AZLK, abbreviation literally translating from Russian as “Lenin Communist Youth League Automobile Factory” was the maker of the Moskvich car brand. The factory which was founded in 1930, stayed around for decades until it filed for bankruptcy in 2002 and shut down all of its production. Today the factory remains idle and abandoned. Here are pictures of the factory…

Here is the apartment of one of the creators of the amazing Tupolev Tu-154 airplane model for Microsoft Flight Simulator 2004, (which you can download for free here). As you can see, he modeled a cockpit of a real Tupolev Tu-154 in his bedroom!!! All of the parts were taken from retired planes and then integraded with the Flight Simulator software. By the way, the guy behind this ambitious project wants to expand the cockpit so it can include more working parts from a real aircraft…

You probably know already that we are very biased towards Russian Cops on this site, mainly because most of them have no honor and take bribes constantly, nevertheless we are probably even more biased towards the insanely expensive cars some of them get to drive. Here is a gallery that shows you what they used to drive back in USSR days, make sure to click on the link down in the gallery to see what some of them drive these days…

Ilushin-86 remains the first Russian wide body passenger airliner. Making its maiden flight back in 1976, 42 out of 103 Il-86 produced, still remain flying today. Il-86 is a very safe aircraft, with only one crash with fatalities back in 2002. One thing that had been noted about Il-86 is their periodic long take off rolls. While most of the Il-86 take offs are pretty much uneventful, at some airports where the short runaways, high temperatures, humidity and heavy summer loads come into play, the take offs can appear quite dramatic (image 1, image 2, image 3)…
