by Rfun

While the Krapoviy (crimson) Beret might seem as the casual red painted beret, but what it represents, as well as its exclusivity is what makes it so valuable. First issuing Krapoviy Beret in 1978, only those special forces soldiers who had demonstrated extraordinary courage in combat could be entitled to wear one. Russian special forces also performs vigorous tests twice a year, in order to see who is worthy of getting one…

The Test Has Three Stages

Stage 1: 12km cross with full equipment (40lbs) in a very rough terrain with swamp crossings and hill climbing, as well as psychological pressure such as gunfire over their heads, and smoke. The first who arrive do push ups till the very last arrive. Right after that they do 100 meter timed sprint. Following by a 4×100m run. Following by a push up and pull up test…

Stage 2: Soldiers should pass a shooting test while shooting from a pistol, automatic rifle, sniper’s rifle, as well as a grenade luncher. Right after that they storm a building where 4 bullets are given to take out 2 targets…

Stage 3
: After all of that (3 hours in total) soldiers are put into a ring to fight 4 fresh soldiers who already have the Krapoviy Beret. Rounds last 3 minutes and the punches are not pulled. Only after lasting in a ring for a total of 12 minutes, they earn their red berets…

P.S. Only Around 10% Of the Soldiers Pass This Test.

they should be glad to be using aks, as a m16 would fire after going through a river and mud like that.
