Fabulous pictures - just wish Moscow was like this today!! Even more hust wish I had been there in the 1960’s!! London does not compare!

I was there in l967 and remember it just like that - masses of space, large boulevards and almost no cars on the street. When Krushchev took his first trip abroad to the US, noting that the slaves of capitalism lived well, the one thing he was keen to avoid emulating was the traffic! I also have vivid memories of queues of people waiting outside the Lenin Mausoleum and the fabulous, spacious and airy metro so unlike London. However, there was not much to buy in the shops (even the foreign tourist ones)and the cheaper hotels were exceedingly basic. It seems one can’t have everything!
