The pioneer movement in the USSR was an organization operated by the communist party. Pioneer movement could be compared to the somewhat similar Scout movement in America, but unlike the Scouts, the pioneer movement was not independent of government control and political parties. I’m sure most will remember pioneers for their “can do” attitude, as well as their red scarfs, and of course pioneer summer camps which were built in large numbers to accommodate the communist youth…
